The full Senate considered S.Res. 311, the Ethics Committee Recommendation on Senator David Durenberger. The Ethics Committee recommended that Senator Durenberger be formally denounced by the full Senate for his financial irregularities concerning book promotions, speaking fees, travel expenses and real estate dealings. The full Senate denounced Sen. Durenberger in a roll call vote with 96 Senators voting in favor of the denouncement, no Senators voting against the denouncement and Senators Durenberger and Boschwitz indicating voting present. After the vote, Senator Durenberger apologized for his actions and committed himself to financial and personal restitution. close
