This installment of Election '90 overviews the Ohio Gubernatorial contest. State Attorney General Anthony Celebrezze (D) and former Cleveland Mayor George Voinovich (R) are hoping to be elected to the position being vacated by retiring governor Richard Celeste (D). Celeste is ineligible to seek another term according to the Ohio state constitution. Abortion and the environment are two of the leading issues in this campaign. Mr. Celebrezze has come out as a pro-choice candidate while Mr. Voinovich opposes a woman’s right to an abortion. Background information about the candidates and Ohio is provided. close
