The Senate debated the S. 1970 Omnibus Crime Bill, which amended the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1991 (Omnibus Act) to: (1) authorize appropriations ($1,000,000,000 for FY 1992 and such sums as necessary in FY 1993 and 1994) for grants to State and local law enforcement agencies and continued the Federal-State funding formula for such agencies for FY 1992; and permitted the use of grants to State and local governments for participation in multi-jurisdictional drug task forces. close
