The representatives of the Office of Thrift Supervision announced that they were seeking restitution of nearly $41 million and the removal and prohibition orders against Charles Keating and five other officers of American Continental Corporation. The American Continental Corporation is the holding company of the then bankrupt Lincoln Savings and Loan of California. If the restitution is successful, it would be the largest sum ever collected from a single institution. close
