Tad Szulc talked about his book which focuses on Twentieth Century historical development. The book, Then and Now: How the World Has Changed Since World War II, examined the impact of nuclear power, technological growth and Third World development on global politics. Mr. Szulc is a former foreign correspondent for The New York Times. He was the first reporter to break the news of the American-sponsored invasion at the Cuban Bay of Pigs in 1961. The book includes his evaluation of news events as well as personal reflections of the last fifty years. He concludes that the rise and fall of Marxism marks the beginning and the end of the Cold War and explains much of the last fifty years. close
