The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime held a hearing on Steroids Abuse. Witnesses testified about the growing abuse of anabolic steroids by amateur and professional athletes. The Subcommittee examined possible legislation that would hold coaches and trainers criminally responsible for encouraging illegal steroid use and would make anabolic steroids a Schedule III controlled substance. Witnesses included the Commissioner of the National Football League who explained the NFL new policy of year around testing. close
