The House agreed to H.Res. 461, to restrict the amendments considered with H.R. 4739. The House continued consideration of amendments to H.R. 4739, to authorize appropriations for military functions of the Department of Defense, but came to no resolution. Two amendments were agreed to, and two were rejected. The Martin (R-NY) amendment to H.R.4739, to strike provisions prohibiting Air Force relocation funds, was rejected. The Bonior (D-MI) amendment to withdraw troops from Japan was adopted. The Mrazek (D-NY) amendment, to place a ceiling on the number of troops in Korea was rejected. The Browder (D-AL) amendment to require the Defense Department to submit legislative proposals for base closures, was adopted. close
