Ms. Griffin talked about the book she edited, Beloved Sisters and Loving Friends: Letters from Rebecca Primus of Royal Oak, Maryland, and Addie Brown of Hartford, Connecticut, 1854-1868, published by Knopf. She focused on the lives of the two young black girls and read portions of their letters. After her prepared remarks she answered questions from the audience. close
