Mr. DeConcini acknowledged that Ms. Sedlmayr had advised him to avoid Mr. Keating. Ms. Sedlmayr testified that she believed that the conference on April 2 had been arranged by Senator Riegle. After cross-examination she admitted that she had no proof to support her claim. Information surfaced that Senator McCain had nothing to do with a letter written by Ms. Sedlmayr and signed by Senator DeConcini requesting Senator Riegle’s attendance at the April 9 meeting. Ms. Sedlmayr stated that she had accidentally forgotten to send a copy to Senator McCain. close
