Kuwaiti refugees testified before the United Nations Security Council, describing torture, rape, and murder of Kuwaiti citizens by Iraqi soldiers. Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in August 1990. The witnesses also said that Kuwait’s infrastructure and economy are being destroyed. Kuwait has submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council condemning Iraq’s attempts to alter the demographics of Kuwait by destroying identity papers and forcing Kuwaitis to flee. The resolution demands that Iraq withdraw from Kuwait by January 15 and is expected to be adopted this week. This program is in English and translated Spanish and Arabic. close
