Arthur. Among the issues they discussed were the election of 1880, Arthur’s rise to the presidency after President Garfield was shot, and his life before the presidency. They also talked about his papers and artifacts housed at Union College in New York. During the program various sites associated with Arthur were shown, a teacher was interviewed and a clip from a cable access show which discussed the cuisine of the day was shown.
