Donna Shalala, Health and Human Services Secretary and Barry McCaffrey, National Drug Policy Director, announced the results of the 1998 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse. The report showed that drug abuse among adolescents dropped and credited the decline, in part, to their national anti-drug media campaign. The report also examined alcohol use which remained at consistent levels. After their remarks they answered questions from reporters. close
