Toward a New Korean Policy
Lee Hoi-Chang, President, SOUTH KOREAN GRAND NATIONAL PARTY
He addressed U.S. and South Korean policy toward North Korea.
Noting that previous policies had failed to create a more open society in North Korea, a tougher stance on security issues and an end to the South’s “sunshine” approach should be developed and that economic pressure should be used to force changes and there should be more social and cultural engagement between the Koreas. After his comments he answered questions from the audience.
