Secretary Riley talked about the increasing number of students in the nation’s high schools and how to help them achieve academic success. He stressed that education needs to help students meet higher standards by providing tutoring and other intervention methods to students. He also suggested that 8th graders be tested on reading and writing skills before entrance into high school. After his prepared remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
