President Bill Clinton spoke about the accomplishments of his administration, including a balanced budget and a federal surplus during his weekly radio address. President Clinton explained his reasons for vetoing the Republican tax cut plan He said, the plan would have damaged Social Security and Medicare. He charged the congressional majority to “fund America’s real priorities,” and derided their tax cuts. He again said those cuts would harm education funding and health care. close
