President Bush gave his strongest threat to date that the U.S. would fulfill a United Nations resolution authorizing force against Iraq unless it withdraws from Kuwait by January 15. The President stated that no concession or negotiation for territory would be granted to Iraq to resolve the crisis. Bush’s words were clearly meant to increase pressure on Saddam Hussein to withdraw from Kuwait. close
