NASA scientists talked with reporters about the status of the Mars Polar Lander mission. They reported that after four days they have all but given up hope of contacting the Lander, which may have crash-landed on Mars. They will continue to attempt contact for two more weeks. They also have been unable to contact the Mars Polar Surveyor spacecraft orbiting Mars. After their prepared remarks they took questions from the media. close
