With Mr. Evans serving as master of ceremonies, Michael Reagan, Cal Thomas, Emmett Tyrrell and Brent Bozell presented videotapes of all the nominees for the Media Research Center’s “Dishonor Awards” for the decade. In the absence of the award recipients, notable conservatives accepted the awards on their behalf, often giving tongue-in-cheek acceptance speeches, including Ed Meese “accepting” for CBS’s John Leonard, Lyn Nofziger for Time Magazine's Elaine Shannon, John Fund for Nina Burleigh, Ed Capano for Newsweek's Evan Thomas, Oliver North for Bryant Gumbel, and Justice Thomas for Julianne Malveaux.
