GOP Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and Democratic Presidential Candidate Senator Bill Bradley (D-NJ) signed a pledge not allow their parties to use “soft” campaign funds if they are nominated for the presidency. Their announcement was made on the same spot President Bill Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) had made an agreement to appoint a commission to eliminate “soft” money in 1995. After their comments they answered questions from the audience. close
