Mr. McConnell reported that there had so far been no major reports of computer failures due to the year 2000 turnover in any country. Many countries are already several hours into the new year. Particularly no failures have been reported in nuclear facilities nor any problems when Greenwich, U.K. (Greenwich Mean Time) began the new year. Minor problems reported included one ship that had computer problems and a problem with slot machines in the U.S. After his prepared remarks Mr. McConnell responded to questions from the media. close
