Mr. Genovese spoke on President Carter’s leadership in “a time of limits,” or an era of political decline. Ms. Kassop examined Carter’s use of presidential power in terminating the 1954 mutual defense treaty with Taiwan. Mr. Pederson argued that President Carter matched the characteristics of the United States' greatest presidents.
