Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo and Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers spoke with reporters about the Clinton administration’s decision not to join a class action lawsuit against gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson. Administration officials indicated the threat of legal action was dropped after the manufacturer agreed to institute a series of safety measures, including child trigger locks and smart technology that allows only the owner to fire the weapon. close
