Mr. Rakove spoke about the book he edited James Madison: Writings, published by the Library of America. The book is a collection of letters, speeches, and essays from the fourth president. Mr. Rakove read excerpts from the book and talked about President Madison’s politic and ideas. After his prepared remarks, he responded to audience comments and questions.

This program, titled “Thought on Reading Madison’s Mind,” was presented at President Madison’s Montpelier. Mr. Quinn introduced the program with remarks on plans for the restoration of the historic site. close
