Professor Skocpol and others talked about her latest book The Missing Middle: Working Families and the Future of American Social Policy, published by W.W. Norton. The author argues that throughout American history, a large portion of social policy has been directed at aiding the middle class, but that recent trends in government policy have been aimed at either the very poor or the very rich.
