In a forum titled, “Crash and Burn: The New and Old Prosperity,” panelists discussed the rise and fall of prosperity based on new technology. Among the issues discussed were how the railroad helped expand the U.S. and causes of the Great Depression. Professor Kennedy is the author of Freedom from Fear, Mr. Bain is the author of Empire Express, and Professor Kosko is the author of The Fuzzy Future. After their remarks they responded to comments and questions from the audience. Mr. Koskinen, author of Squandering Aimlessly, served as moderator. close
