Eric Brende talked about his book “Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology", published by HarperCollins. Mr. Brende moved with his wife to the Midwest in order to join a farming community in the hopes of curtailing the effects that technology had on their lives. The farming community that the author dubbed "Minimites,” was closely related to the Amish and used no machinery to cultivate their land or electricity in their homes. The author found that even though he had none of the modern conveniences in his life, he had more free time than the typical American worker. close
