Officials briefed reporters about President Clinton’s forthcoming trip to Japan for a G-8 summit and outlined the agenda for the summit. They said that among the economic issues to be discussed were the impact of HIV infection on international trade, universal education issues, and the growing “digital divide.” The summit would also address security issues including nuclear nonproliferation and conflict prevention. Following their remarks they answered questions from the reporters. close
