President Clinton announced that after 14 days of intensive negotiations Middle East peace talks ended without an agreement about a final status. He said that while “real headway” was made, Palestinian officials were unwilling to make the final steps. At issue in the talks were regional security, the fate of Palestinian refugees, the borders of a future Palestinian state, and sovereignty in Jerusalem. Following his remarks he answered questions from reporters. close
