Missouri Governor Roger Wilson (D) announced that he would appoint Jean Carnahan, the wife of recently deceased Governor Mel Carnahan, to the Senate if the late Governor Carnahan were posthumously elected. Governor Carnahan died in a plane crash days after the deadline to change the ballot in Missouri. Following his remarks Governor Wilson answered questions from reporters. close
