Erik Larson talked about his book, The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, published by Crown Publishers. In the book Mr. Larson juxtaposes the stories of architect Daniel Burnham and serial killer Dr. Henry H. Holmes. Both men played an historic role in the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Mr. Larson talked about what life was like in Chicago in 1893 and described what it was like to be at the fair. He also discussed why he decided to write the book and how he did his research.
