William Rentschler discussed his biography Goldwater: A Tribute to a Twentieth-Century Political Icon, published by NTC/Contemporary Books. The book examines Barry Goldwater’s life as a U.S. Senator from Arizona and as the Republican presidential candidate. The author also examines Goldwater’s role in the conservative movement that spread across America in the latter part of the 20th Century and what he believes was a shift to a Libertarian philosophy in the senator’s later years. Mr. Rentschler talked about Senator Goldwater’s relationship with Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon and historic events that surrounded these political figures. He answered questions from the audience. close
