Brig. Gen. Stevens spoke to reporters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on events in Operation Desert Storm. He described further counts of downed aircraft, personnel in the theater, numbers of SCUD missiles fired at Saudi Arabia and Israel, and so on. Brig. Gen. Stevens also repeated the Joint Command’s announcement that Saudi forces have retaken the abandoned Saudi town of Khafji. No Marine ground units, Brig. Gen. Stevens said, were involved in the recapture of Khafji: only Marine Cobras supported the Saudis in the engagement with the Iraqis. close
