Books on the Balkans Three authors discussed the breakdown of Yugoslavia and the future of the Balkan states. Mazower is the author of The Balkans: A Short History, published by Modern Library, which argues against stereotypes of the area. Buckley, a professor of medical ethics, is editor of Kosovo: Contending Voices on Balkan Interventions, which tells the story of the Kosovo peoples. Haviv is the co-author of Blood and Honey: A Balkan War Journal. After their prepared remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
