LIFE: Century of Change
Richard Stolley discussed his new book LIFE: A Century of Change, America in Pictures 1900-2000, published by Little, Brown and Company. The book contains 721 photos and thematically surveys the evolution of daily life in America in the twentieth century. This book focuses on the social, cultural, and artistic changes in this country. It is a companion volume for the 1999 LIFE: Our Century in Pictures which focused on the political, economic, and military changes. During his talk, Mr. Stolley showed slides of photographs in the book, and offered both personal anecdotes and historical insight into each picture. After his presentation he answered questions from the audience. close
