Michael Beschloss talked about the book he edited, American Heritage History of the President, published by Time Books. This new edition offers portraits of forty-two presidencies illuminating what really went on behind the scenes. In this talk, Mr. Beschloss told a variety of stories about many American presidents. He referred to his book about President Lyndon Johnson and his White House tapes, and discussed how presidents are rated over time by historians. He focused on Lincoln and the book he is writing about the assassination. He also answered questions from the audience. close
