Mr. Rooney discussed his book My War, recently reissued by PublicAffairs with a new foreword by Tom Brokaw. The book is a memoir-style account of Mr. Rooney’s experiences during World War II when he was a reporter in Europe covering the front. During his talk, he discusses wartime encounters with Ernie Pyle, Ernest Hemingway, and many others. He also discusses the challenges reporters faced in those days with very limited and cumbersome technology. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
