Roger Bruns talked about his book Almost History: Close Calls, Plan B’s, and Twists of Fate in America’s Past, published by Hyperion. The book is a collection of speeches, memos, and other archival material that reveals how the government would have handled historic moments that almost, but didn’t, come to be such as the failure of the Apollo 11 mission or of the D-Day invasion. After his remarks, Mr. Bruns answered questions from the audience. close
