In his final press briefing, Mr. Siewert issued a statement by President Clinton in which he outlined a deal made with the independent counsel in order to avoid disbarment proceedings. In the agreement the president agreed to give up his law licensee for five years and pay a fine. Following his remarks he answered questions from the reporters. At the end of the briefing he offered a tongue-in-cheek schedule for the president’s first week out of office. close
