Shareen Brysac discussed her book Resisting Hitler: Mildred Harnack and the Red Orchestra, published by Oxford University Press. The book examines the life of Mildred Fish-Harnack, an American-born woman who played an important role in the Soviet espionage organization known as the Red Orchestra. In her book and talk, Ms. Brysac explained how Mildred Fish came to marry a German man and to join the anti-Nazi Resistance. Ms. Brysac used slides to supplement her presentation and she answered questions from members of the audience. close
