Joan Didion was guest speaker at the Barnard Forum on Migration. That is a series of seminars, lectures, and readings that explore issues connected to the movement of people from one part of the world to another due to natural disasters, slavery, or persecution. As well as non-fiction, Ms. Didion has written novels where the theme of migration -- "people on the move"- is the focus of the narrative. The author read from one such novel, Democracy. After the reading, Ms. Didion answered questions from the audience. close
