J. Kemp McLaughlin, retired Brigadier General in the United States Air Force, discussed his book The Mighty Eighth in WW II: A Memoir, published by University Press of Kentucky. In the book, the author describes his experiences on an aerial bombardment team in Western Europe during the Second World War. He explains the significance of his missions, the risks faced by himself and his comrades, and the damage they were able to inflict on Nazi Germany. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
