Jack Zipes talked about his book Sticks and Stones: The Troublesome Success of Children’s Literature from Slovenly Peter to Harry Potter, published by Routledge. In his book about the state of children’s literature Professor Zipes writes about the children’s publishing industry, children’s literature courses in universities, and the way children’s books are reviewed in the media. The book asserts that most children’s literature is written with an adult bias and that it curtails children’s natural creativity. close
