Scientists presented the annual sound science award and talked to reporters about President Bush’s call for an expanded missile defense program. They said that the technology for the program was untested and unproven, questioned the costs of such a program, and said that moving forward would increase tensions with allies and would be harmful to international security. Following their remarks they answered questions from the reporters. close
