Representative Curt Weldon (R-PA) announced the formation of a group of independent experts, the members of which have agreed to make their scientific expertise available to members of Congress, their constituents and the media to respond to unfounded charges about missile defense. Rep. Weldon and the scientists talked with reporters about President George W. Bush’s plan to enhance U.S. efforts to defend against ballistic missiles and the feasibility of such systems. After their prepared remarks they answered media questions. close
