The House convened, starting a new legislative day.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Frank R. Wolf to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

Today’s prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Daniel Coughlin.

The Speaker announced approval of the Journal. Pursuant to clause 1, rule I, the Journal stands approved.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Oberstar to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The House received a message from the Clerk. The Clerk notified the House that he had received a message from the Senate stating that the Senate had agreed to the conference report to accompany H. Con. Res. 83.

Commission on International Religious Freedom - the Speaker appointed Ms. Nina Shea, Washington, DC.

Congressional Award Board - the Minority Leader appointed the following member of the House to the Congressional Award Board: Ms. Jackson-Lee.
