Members of the Coalition for Justice in the Maquiladoras spoke to reporters on the responsibility of American corporations to provide satisfactory working conditions for employees in factories of U.S. companies in Mexico. The maquiladoras are assembling and manufacturing plants built in Mexico by foreign companies, 90 percent of which are owned by U.S. corporations. The Coalition issued a report charging the U.S. corporations with failing to provide fair wages, healthy working conditions, and environmental protection. close
