Professor Foner wrote The Story of American Freedom, published by W.W. Norton and Company and Reconstruction: America’s Unfinished Revolution, 1863-1877 , published by HarperCollins. Mr. Winik is the author of April 1865: The Month That Saved America, published by HarperCollins. Professor Waugh, the author of Unsentimental Reformer: The Life of Josephine Shaw Lowell, published by Harvard University Press, moderated the event.
