Mr. Ellsberg talked about the impact of the Vietnam War and the publishing of the “Pentagon Papers” on American society. As a Pentagon employee, Ellsberg “leaked” the top-secret papers to the New York Times where they were printed in 1971. Among the issues he addressed were his personal opposition to the Vietnam War, First Amendment rights, and government secrecy. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
