Mr. Kraft answered questions from the audience about his job, including Apollo 13, problems and malfunctions in space, memorable moments, civilians in space, the space race in the 1960s, and astronaut necessities while in space. He is the author of Flight: My Life in Mission Control, published by Dutton. Mr. Kraft was NASA’s first flight director at the Johnson Space Center in Houston from 1972 to 1982. close
