Matthew Olshan talked about his book Finn: A Novel, published by Bancroft Press. The book is a modern retelling of Mark Twain’s classic The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn with a teenage girl and a pregnant young Mexican woman as the main characters. Mr. Olshan described the experience of writing about civilization and racism, key themes in Huckleberry Finn, from the point of view of a teenaged girl. The book was written for young adults. Mr. Olshan read brief excerpts from his novel before answering questions from members of the audience. close
